Tinychip Micro has recently unveiled its latest offerings, the TCAE12A/32A. Following the release of TCAE31A in March 2022, this new product line reinforces Tinychip Micro's leading position in the automotive touch control sector.
The TCAE32A builds upon the basic features of its predecessor, TCAE31A, and is based on a 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M0 core. It continues to support a dual-mode 3D touch control solution comprising of capacitive touch and pressure-sensitive touch. It can support up to 26 channels of capacitive touch and 8 channels of pressure-sensitive touch. In terms of communication interfaces, it supports commonly used serial communication protocols such as LIN, SPI, I2C, and UART, which enables seamless integration with BCM or other haptic feedback actuators, forming a more comprehensive intelligent surface application for both the interior and exterior of vehicles.
Typical applications include top controllers, door panel controllers, air conditioning panels, multifunction steering wheels, steering wheel departure detection, intelligent seat armrests, seat controls, gear shift control boards, lighting controls, and intelligent B-pillars.
TCAE31 was limited by its channels and IO ports, making it suitable for mechanical button replacement applications with five or fewer buttons. TCAE32A, on the other hand, has made significant improvements in both capacitive and pressure detection channels. It is now an important piece in Tinychip Micro's complete intelligent touch control product line. In addition, the reliability has been further optimized in areas such as EMC and anti-interference, which can better solve the challenging EMC issues faced by the industry.
In addition to the advantages of the chip itself, Tinychip Micro's rich experience in the touch control application field can also assist and support customers in passing various reliability tests and achieving faster mass production.

The TCAEx2A series released this time includes two specific models, TCAE12A and TCAE32A. TCAE12A supports capacitive touch, while TCAE32A supports both capacitive and pressure touch modes. Both models come in 32-pin and 48-pin packaging options.
