Microsoft officially launches AI-powered Microsoft Bing and Edge
From the Microsoft blog: We're bringing search, browsing, and chat together into one unified experience you can invoke from anywhere on the web, offering:
• BETTER SEARCH The new Bing gives you an improved version of the familiar search experience, delivering more relevant results for simple things like sports scores, stock prices and weather, and a new sidebar that reveals a more comprehensive display if you need it s answer.
• Complete Answers Bing reviews results from across the web to find and summarize the answers you're looking for. For example, you can get detailed instructions on how to substitute eggs for another ingredient in a cake you're baking without having to scroll through multiple results.
• A new chat experience For more complex searches -- such as planning detailed travel itineraries or researching what TV to buy -- the new Bing offers a new interactive chat. The chat experience enables you to refine your search by asking for more details, clarity and ideas until you get the complete answer you're looking for - providing usable links so you can act on your decision immediately.
•Creative Spark Sometimes you need more than answers - you need inspiration. The new Bing can generate content to help you. It can help you write emails, create a 5-day itinerary for your dream vacation in Hawaii, book links for travel and lodging, prepare for job interviews, or create quizzes for quiz nights. The new Bing also cites all its sources, so you can see links to web content it cites.
• New Microsoft Edge experience We updated the Edge browser with new AI features and a new look, and added two new features: Chat and Compose. With the Edge sidebar, you can request a lengthy summary of a financial report to get the key takeaways - then use the chat feature to ask for a comparison to competing companies' financials, which will automatically be put into a table. You can also ask Edge to help you write content, such as LinkedIn posts, by giving it a few hints to help you get started.
