Built in AI, acceleration sensor and communication module (equipment under development)
TDK will develop IoT (Internet of Things) based small sensors to help connect all things in the factory. The feature is that it can be used as long as it is installed on the equipment of the production line. As small sensors communicate with various devices, they can be widely used by increasing the number of sensors. It is easier to achieve preventive maintenance of equipment, which is expected to improve the production efficiency of the factory.
TDK aims to be listed in October 2023, and is considering the price and market. The size of the equipment is about half of the fist, and the weight is assumed to be 20-30g. Built in communication module and acceleration sensor, powered by button battery. The built-in artificial intelligence (AI) analyzes the vibration, etc., and prompts the abnormal situation.
There is no need for complex settings, just install it to connect with the controller connected to the computer. Although the communication distance varies according to the use environment, it can communicate with 10~20 meters away. To reduce power consumption, data is transmitted at equal intervals once an hour. Under some usage methods, it can be replaced for more than 2 years.
The "mesh network" communication mode of transmitting data through adjacent equipment is adopted, and the monitoring range can be expanded by increasing the number of sets. Up to 100 devices can be connected. Even if a device is disconnected, the communication line can be recovered automatically.
If the abnormal vibration, which is the precursor of the fault, can be detected, it can be repaired as soon as possible, which is expected to shorten the equipment downtime and prolong the equipment life.
