HKMG engineering is a next-generation engineering technology that prevents leakage current inside DRAM and increases power accumulation capacity. While speeding up DRAM processing, power consumption can also be reduced. Previously, although it was suitable for high-capacity DRAM for servers or images, it was the first time that it was used as a DRAM for mobile.

SK hynix recently started mass production of LPDDR5X to supply products to the market. The product operates at 8.5Gbps (gigabits per second), which is 33% faster than the previous generation. This speed can download 13 5GB images in 1 second. The power consumption has been reduced by 25% compared with the past, and the power efficiency is the best among the mobile DRAMs currently on the market.

Mobile DRAM is mainly used in wireless electronic devices such as smartphones, notebook computers, and tablet computers. These machines have limited battery power, and it is important to reduce DRAM power consumption in order to increase product life. This means that smartphones using LPDDR5X can last longer on a single charge. The frequency of charging is also reduced, thus saving electricity and reducing carbon emissions.
