Musk promised to bring satellite internet service to Iran in September, when Iranian authorities imposed increasingly stringent internet restrictions that demonstrators saw as an attempt to curb news about protests across the country.
"Now on the streets of Iran...women have more freedom to choose whether or not to cover their hair," one Twitter user uploaded the video and wrote.
Responding to the tweet today, Musk said: "Nearly 100 Starlinks operating in Iran."
Starlink has more than 2,000 small satellites operating hundreds of kilometers above the earth, providing user network services. Terminals on the ground connect to a basic router, forming a small wireless network hotspot.
Musk's tweet appeared to be related to the Hijab Revolution protests in Iran. This wave of protests originated from the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurdish woman who was suspected of not wearing a headscarf in September after being detained by Tehran's religious police. People took to the streets to protest in anger.
