In the third quarter of this year, global sales of NAND flash memory decreased by 24% compared with the previous quarter. According to the analysis, due to the recession, the sales of information technology (IT) machines have decreased sharply, and the demand for semiconductors has shrunk. It is predicted that the industry will continue to slump in the fourth quarter, and the global NAND flash memory market will decrease by about 20%.

According to information from Trend Force on the 24th, the global NAND flash memory market size in the third quarter was US$13.71 billion, a decrease of 24.3% from the second quarter. According to analysis, this is affected by the shrinking market of servers and smartphones using NAND flash memory. The average selling unit price (ASP) of NAND flash memory also fell by 18.3% from the previous quarter.

By business classification, Samsung Electronics' third-quarter sales were $4.3 billion, a 28.1 percent decrease from the previous quarter. Market share also dropped from 33.0% to 31.4%, down 1.6 percentage points.
