On the afternoon of March 21st, President Xi Jinping and Russian President Putin signed and issued a joint statement at the Kremlin in Moscow, announcing the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in the new era.

With regards to the Ukraine issue, both sides agreed that the UN Charter principles and rules of international law must be respected. The Russian side spoke highly of China's objective and impartial stance on the Ukraine issue.

Both sides oppose any country or group of countries that damages the legitimate security interests of other countries in the pursuit of military, political, or other advantages. Russia reiterated its commitment to restarting talks as soon as possible, which China appreciated.

Russia welcomed China's willingness to play an active role in resolving the Ukraine crisis through political and diplomatic means, and appreciated the constructive proposals outlined in China's position paper on the political resolution of the crisis.

Therefore, the international community should support relevant constructive efforts.
