Tech giant Apple (AAPL, AAPL) is considering buying Manchester United (Manchester United, MANU).
The British tabloid, without citing sources, said Apple CEO Tim Cook was interested in buying the prestigious English Premier League club for £5.8bn.
The Daily Star wrote on Thursday: "CEO Tim Cook is interested in exploring the possibility of buying Manchester United and will arrange talks with the banks appointed to deal with the sale of the club, including The Raine Group. "
Manchester United would become the richest club in the world if it were bought by Apple, the newspaper said.
