Lisa Su, chief executive of Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD), said that for the chip supplier, the personal computer market is about to bottom out.
"We do think that the first quarter was the bottom of our PC market," Su said on the chip company's earnings call after its fiscal fourth-quarter results.
After a surge in the early days of the new crown epidemic, PC shipments have fallen sharply. Research firm Gartner said PC shipments fell 28.5% in the final quarter of last year, the biggest drop since the firm began tracking the market in the 1990s.
"We will see a certain level of growth in the second quarter, and then there will be a seasonal increase in the second half of the year," Su said.
